About this Bespoke Pet Cushion Design
A lady based in the UK contacted me through Etsy Conversations about creating a bespoke pet cushion for her sister's birthday. She wanted a cushion that was truly unique and that also reflected the true personality of her sister's pets: Her dog called Willis; her cat and her pet lovebird.
She sent over a few photos of each pet and from these I created a number of drawings. This was a bit of a challenge as each pet has their own personality which needs to shine through as well as differing textures of fur and features that need to be made obvious through the different marks made.
After a few alterations to the drawings, we agreed the final set of three. My next task was to arrange them into a design which depicted them in the best way. I had a number of attempts, some of which looked a little like an album cover! Once the cover design was agreed, the design was printed on 100% cotton fabric and the cushion cover made at my home in Wootton, Bedfordshire, UK.
The customer had the option of personalising the cushion cover with the addition of piping as well as choosing the colour of the reverse of the cushion.
